Joe Stern
Memories from Sarah:
After Nixon became president, Joe started volunteering five
days a week at the Downtown Senior Center.
He was in charge of income maintenance and became known as a fierce
advocate for his many clients.
Subsequently he was appointed to the first advisory board of
the newly-formed Area Agency on Aging. I
started Senior Enterprises, now known as “ElderHelp.”
He also started writing a column for the San Diego Evening
Tribute called “Aging with Dignity.”
