On February 1st 1957, Northeast Airlines Flight
823 crashed shortly after take-off.
Sadly, 20 people died, and 78 were injured.
Among the survivors were Sandy Selmonsky, pregnant with her
daughter Penny at the time, and her 2 ½ year old son Gary.
The flight from NY to Miami had originally been scheduled to
take off at 2:45pm, but was delayed, due to snowfall, until 6:01 pm.
During the delay, Bobby had a premonition and tried to get
Sandy and Gary removed from the plane, but was rebuffed.
60 seconds after take-off the plane crashed on Rikers
Island. It is believed that spatial
disorientation due to the weather conditions was the cause.

PJ: Sandy told me that whenever Gary would get out of line,
she would remind him that he owed her because she saved his life by throwing
him out of the window after the crash.
