Jakers & Selmonskys
Back row left to right: Irv Jaker, Ethel Selmonsky Jaker, Miriam Seff Selmonsky & Joe Selmonsky - June 17,1973.
A story from Peter:
In the 70's Joe Selmonsky lived in an apartment on Avenue P near East 3rd Street.
Which is how he came to have a bird's eye view from his window of the robbery of the Chase Manhattan Bank at 450 Avenue P by John Wojtowicz on August 22, 1972.
1n 1975, that robbery was immortalized in the movie "Dog Day Afternoon," with Al Pacino playing John. https://rare.us/entertainment-and-culture/john-wojtowicz/
Oh, and Luke Stern had an account at that bank too.
