Sue and Barry met on April 15, 1952.  It was a blind date.

Sue was not particularly impressed and wasn't planning on seeing him again.

But then he called her and told her that he had found the rooster charm from her bracelet in his car.  She decided to go out with him again to get her charm back.

On the second date she decided she did like him after all. 

Their engagement was announced on August 15, 1953.
