Aaron & Rose Canape
Aaron Canape & Rose Zamerinsky Canape: 1949 – wedding day
A story from Lora:
My parents, who were in their early 30’s when they married,
had a small wedding and honeymooned in Atlantic City for three days.
My mom was a “city girl” who lived and worked in NYC. They met through their friends, Yetta and Norman Simon, in Tom's River.
Early in their marriage, Aaron’s dad, Paul, had a heart
attack and was hospitalized. Since everyone
was busy with Paul, but the farm still needed to keep going, my mother Rose
stepped up.
When the family came home from the hospital, they found her
candling and sorting the eggs. She had
watched Tillie so she knew what to do.
Needless to say, the family was very impressed.
