Susan & Barry Lehrer – 1955
Susan Stern Lehrer & Barry Lehrer wedding – June 1955
A
story from PJ:
In
the 60’s Barry and his friend Steve Lerner had an interior design business -
Stephen Leigh & Associates. Steve
was the designer, Barry was the accountant.
Their offices were on the top floor in the Cartier building at 649 Fifth Ave.
Located at Fifth & 52nd
Street, the Renaissance-style building, formally the home of Morton F. Plant,
son of railroad and shipping tycoon Henry Plant, is the only midtown mansion
from the Gilded Age that is still intact.
The story goes that the Plants traded the house to Cartier in exchange
for $100 and a $1 million string of pearls that Mrs. Plant admired.
