Herb & Frieda Elkin
Left to right: Herb & Frieda Elkin and Louise Selmonsky Mintzes & Itzik Mintzes
A story from Bette:
Herb Elkin was a cousin who was in a concentration camp.
The first time I saw him was at Grandma Selmonsky's. I might have been about seven years old. My mom said that Herb and Frieda were coming over to visit and I shouldn't ask anything about the numbers on his arm. So, of course, I had to see what she was talking about!!
I don't remember what I said, if anything, but i do remember that he was always a very nice man and I liked him, as did mom.
