Anne Stern - born June 8th.

 

A story from PJ Lehrer...

When I was eight I had a piece of my thyroid removed.  As a result, I have a scar at the base of my neck.   Not long after the operation, we visited with Anne at Ronnie's house. 

I remember sitting next to her on the couch when she gave me a strand of pearls to cover my scar.  (No, not the ones in the photo - these were child sized.)

I thought she was the most glamorous woman in the world and wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

Jessica has the pearls now. 

She is deciding who to pass them along to next.
