Pauline Knyper & Philip Selmonsky on their 25th Wedding Anniversary

The Selmonsky's lived in Poland at a time when Russia controlled Warsaw. Philip was in the Polish army. On the Tsarina's birthday there was a drawing. The prize for the winner was permission to emigrate. Philip won the drawing and asked Pauline, the first women he met, to marry him. She agreed.
They left and went to England shortly thereafter.
